A lone figure stands exposed against a dark field of red marks, fragments, and half-legible words. The painting holds the tension between visibility and vulnerability: the body is bright, almost lit from within, while the surrounding space feels like accusation, memory, instruction, dream and judgment. 

The work asks what it means to be seen in an ocean of learned judgments - to be named, watched, categorised, or singled out by one's culture. The red writing does not fully explain itself. Instead, it surrounds the figure like a psychological atmosphere: intimate, threatening, and unresolved.  

"Marked" is a painting about exposure, shame, survival, and the fragile courage of remaining visible.
