Emergence places a single vivid figure among rows of red, repeated bodies. The surrounding figures suggest a chorus, a crowd, a line-up, or a community held inside ritual and repetition. Against them, the central figure appears exposed, decorated and alive - not hiding, but emerging.

The spaces between the figures carry their own weight. They suggest absence as much as pattern: those missing from the room, those lost, those made invisible, including the shadow of the HIV/AIDS epidemic within queer history. The painting holds both survival and disappearance - the body that remains, the bodies that are gone, and the act of becoming visible after silence.
